A baby’s first birthday is a huge milestone! For others though, it represents more than just your baby going from a baby to a toddler. For some, it’s a milestone in a journey they worked years for. I’ll let Lena explain her and Joe’s journey to bring their sweet Georgia June into this world.
“Georgia is our 5-years-in-the-making miracle baby. After trying naturally for two years and then going through multiple infertility treatments for three years including two IUIs, three fresh cycles of IVF, and three frozen cycles of IVF which had all failed, egg donation was the next step in the journey. Through the workings of social media, a gracious woman who we had never met in person offered to gift her donated eggs to us. We met her and her family in Augusta Georgia in March 2016 and instantly connected with them. By late May she was going through the donor process & by June we had transferred our 10th embryo (our very first egg donor embryo) and found out several days later that I was pregnant. Once we knew we were having a girl we decided on the name Georgia after the state where she was conceived and where her egg donor resides.”
This little girl shines with all the love that went into bringing her into this world! She is sassy and absolutely adorable! Being a part of her first birthday was such a blessing! And I absolutely LOVED her peach themed first birthday party! Georgia’s Aunt made the (amazingly delicious) cake and cookies, and Lena had the cutest decorations! You can see all about the recap of her party over on her blog, Baby Ridley Bump.
